About to read - seems like its the only book on the subject.
At over £40 for approx 300 pages its the most expensive
one I own. |
| Application Architecture for .NET: Designing Applications and
Services |
Pretty slim book. |
| .NET Patterns Archecture, Design and Process |
Pretty slim book. |
| Essential ASP.NET with examples in C# |
Excellent start to ASP.NET. Read this one first (dont skip to
a big reference book). This helps explain why things are done
the way they are. Not a good reference book but still very technical. |

Good reference book but not a very smart introduction to the
technology - read Essential ASP.NET instead. |

Great book. |
| XML Developers Handbook |
Load of rubbish .. the only book I've read that gives you
an entire chapter to read and then at the end says that the
info you've just waded through is out of date.
Also serves as a useful warning on the dangers of attempting
to use XML to do everything. |
| Introducing the UNIX System |
Old, old book but still OK as reference - should really get
a more upto date Linux book. |
| Paterns of Enterprise Application Archtecture |
Martin Fowler et al |
Addison Wesley |
Pretty cool book .. good overview of standard patterns that an enterprise application developer is going to need to know about (if even they dont realise it the'll be using these patterns anyway). |
| Enterprise Integration Patterns - Designing, Building and
Deploying Messaging Solutions |
Gregor Hohpe, Boogy Woolf |
Addison Wesley |
Another pretty cool book .. again good overview of standard
practise/patterns when creating a messaging framework. If your
using MSMQ, for instance, you need to know about the ideas this
book covers (you can deduce it all from first principles but
its a lot simplier/less risky reading this first). |
| .NET Patterns - Architecure, Design and Process |
Christian Thilmany |
Addison Wesley |
Havent been able tyo get into this book yet .. tried once
and ended up reading the two books above. |
